How to Reset or Unbound BrainLink Tune?

1. Download the "BrainLink Tune" dedicated App.
2. Go to "My" tab at the bottom of the home page.
3. Under "Settings" - Click "Reset Device"
4. Please note that after reset, BrainLink Tune is set back to the default state, all pre-store data inside the device will be erased.
How to connect or pair BrainLink to my smartphone or tablet via Bluetooth?

1. Make sure your device's OS is supported by BrainLink. Mainly iOS and Android. Windows mobile phone is not supported at this point.
2. Make sure both BrainLink and the Bluetooth of your smartphone/tablet are turned on. There is NO pairing mode for BrainLink, so you DO NOT need to long press the on-off button to enter any pairing mode.
3. For BrainLink Lite, SE, and Tune, search and click the BrainLink Lite device name in the Bluetooth devices list to connect. For BrainLink Pro, it will auto-connect when any BrainLink-compatible App is launched.
4. IMPORTANT CHECKLIST: (1) BrainLink can only connect to one smartphone/tablet at a time, please make sure the old device Bluetooth is OFF or disconnected before connecting to a new smart device. (2) Avoid multiple BrainLink-compatible Apps running at the same time as the Bluetooth channel might be occupied by Apps running in the background. Exit any BrainLink-compatible Apps running in the background before launching a new App. (3) Make sure BrainLink is within a 10-meter range of your smartphone device.
How do I know if BrainLink is connected to a device?
You can tell by the color of the LED light on the BrainLink module to see if it is connected to any smartphone, tablet, or accessory device (spider robot or book lamp). If you see BLUE and RED lights flashing, it means BrainLink is not connected to any device, if you see only BLUE light flashing, it means BrainLink is connected to a device nearby.
Tips: BrainLink can only connect to one smartphone/tablet at a time, please make sure the old device Bluetooth is OFF or disconnected before connecting to a new smart device.
How do I know the battery/power level of BrainLink?

1. For BrainLink Pro & Tune, the battery level is displayed on the top status bar icon on the phone screen once it is connected. If the battery level is low, BrainLink will vibrate several of times before turning off.
2. There is no battery level display for BrainLink Lite due to the limited data bandwidth of Bluetooth 3.0 protocol. However, if the battery level is low you will hear BEEPing buzzer audio feedback.
What is the battery life and charging time of BrainLink?
The battery life of different BrainLink models are:
- BrainLink Pro: 4-5 hrs
- BrainLink Lite: 7-8 hrs
- BrainLink Tune: 4-5hrs or 8-9hrs (Music Mode)
*Calculated after a fully charge 80% new battery at normal room temperature.
The charging time of different BrainLink models are:
- BrainLink Pro: 45m- 1hrs
- BrainLink Lite: 45m - 1hrs
- BrainLink Tune: 30m - 1hrs
*Calculated charging from 0%-100%, room temp, USB-C 5V-1A power source.
When charging, a RED light is shown on BrainLink, it will turn OFF when charging is complete.
How do I change the language setting of Apps/BrainLink Tune AI Audio?
1. App language settings:
Most of BrainLink Apps support language in English. It will auto-switch to EN depending on the smartphone OS language setting in most cases. You can also go to the "Settings" or "Account" tab on most of the App pages to change the language setting.
2. BrainLink Tune AI Audio Language Settings:
By default, BrainLink Tune AI audio language is in Mandarin. You can change it to English or Japanese(JP version only) in the "BrainLink Tune" App. After connecting via Bluetooth, simply go to "My" at the bottom of the app home screen, then under "Settings" -- Click "Audio Language" -- then select the preferred language.

How do I access the raw EEG data?
You can access the raw EEG data through our App "Basic Detection". You can send the raw datasheet of each train section to your email. Simply click the "account" icon on the top left corner, then under "Logs" -- click the bottom right "down arrow" icon. Enter your email address and you are done.
The other way to access raw EEG data is through our SDK/API. You can access all data listed in the protocol in the development sandbox environment or develop your own application with an export function. This method requires some skill in technical/software dev background, so it is more suitable for developers. If you wish to know more about our 3rd party dev support, please visit:

Can I connect BrainLink to a Windows PC or Mac?
Yes, you can connect BrainLink to a Windows OS desktop(with Bluetooth function enabled), or laptop computer.

How to pair BrainLink Lite, Pro to the Spider Robot?
The pairing between BrainLink and the Spider Robot is automatic. Simply turn on both devices and let them sit within the range of 10 meters, wait for a few seconds, and they should auto-paired. Once it is paired, you should only see a BLUE light flashing on BrainLink.
Please disconnect any previous connection with BrainLink on a smartphone or tablet before establishing a connection with the spider robot as Bluetooth protocol only allow connection with one signal device at a time.
What do the 3 RED lights on the spider robot mean?
The 3 red lights on the spider robot mean the moving speed of the robot. The higher concentration of the user, the faster the spider robot moves.
Why most of the audio/soundscapes are locked in "Zen Garden 2" or "8 mins Meditation"?
"Zen Garden 2" or "8 mins Meditation" are the only 2 apps that consist of an in-app content subscription business model as all the content in these 2 apps is produced by professional/meditation coaches with licensing agreements. We share the profits of this part of the income with professional/meditation coaches for the in-app content subscription.
However, we do have bundle packages for unlocking in-app purchase content for users who participated in our promo sales or discount activity from time to time. Are all of your Apps free?
Yes, most of our official Apps are FREE to download. "Zen Garden 2" and "8 mins Meditation" are the only 2 apps that consist of an in-app content subscription model. Some of the 3rd party developer Apps are not free as it is developed by 3rd party and have their own business model.

What if I am allergic to metal?
BrainLink's metal sensors are all made of plated gold. Suppose your skin is allergic to gold metal. In that case, we suggest that you stop using BrainLink immediately because it may cause itchiness on the skin which could possibly lead to a further medical condition.
How do I sign up and log in to Apps including Zen Garden 2, Basic Detection, and 8 mins Meditation?
Signing up and logging in to all BrainLink Apps are straight forwards. Users outside mainland China sign up and log in with their email addresses. Simply provide your email address upon signing up and activate your user account within the authentication email sent automatically to your email inbox. After the account is activated, just log in with your email address in any of the Apps. Please note that you only need one account for all BrainLink Apps.

What kind of USB charging cable is BrainLink using?
All BrainLink products use the USB Type-C cable for charging.
What languages do BrainLink Apps support?
Most of BrainLink Apps and Tutorial support the following languages:
1. English
2. Simplified Chinese
3. Traditional Chinese
4. Japanese (BrainLink Tutorial, 8 mins Meditation, BrainLink Tune)
What is the "Data Synchronization" mode or function?
The Data Sync function is only available for the BrainLink Tune. You can use BrainLink Tune without connecting any Apps to phones or pad devices during the brainwave collecting stage as in Pomodoro, Meditation, Detect Distraction, or Silent modes. Brainwave data will be temporarily stored within the BrainLink Tune itself. You can later sync the data to the dedicated BrainLink Tune App at any time after your brainwave collecting sections to generate data reports and analysis in Apps. The built-in memory of BrainLink Tune devices can store up to 10 days of brainwave data, but please note that the larger the data the longer the syncing time.
Is the "Data Synchronization" function available for devices other than the BrainLink Tune?
No, Data Synchronization is a unique feature only available for BrainLink Tune.
Is there a platform online to track the information from BrainLink?
There are many Apps that you can use to keep track of biometric data such as EEG, heart rate, and HRV. The App "Basic Detection" is the most comprehensive App that outputs BrainLink's complete data in both in-app report and data sheet format(via email).

How to turn ON or OFF my BrainLink devices?
To turn ON BrainLink(All devices), simply press and hold the ON/OFF button(the only button in Blue on the BrainLink module) for 1 sec. Once it this turned on, you will see a blue/red led light flashing and hear 2 buzzers (BrainLink Lite or SE) or feel 2 vibrations(BrainLink Pro or Tune) to indicate the device is being turn on.
To turn OFF BrainLink, press the same button once(BrainLink Lite or Pro), if the led light is OFF, the device is being turned OFF. For BrainLink Tune, you need to HOLD the button for 1 sec again until you feel 1 virabtion and led light is OFF.
How many sensors(electrodes) does BrainLink have?
BrainLink Lite, BrainLink Tune, & BrainLink SE:
3 sensors/electrodes(FP1 EEG, Ground, Reference), located on the forehead.
BrainLink Pro Hard Headset:
2 forehead sensors/electrodes(FP1 EEG, REF), 1 on the ear-clip(GND)
BrainLink Pro Headband:

Why does my device NOT connect to the App BrainLink Tune?
The App BrainLink Tune is a dedicated App only compatible to the BrainLink Tune device. If you have BrainLink Lite or BrainLink Pro, this App does NOT connect to these two devices.
I have an Android Phone(Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Google, Vivo, Oppo, OnePlus), I am having issues installing the APKs from the download page. What do I do?
For some Android OS, you may need to Turn OFF App Guard mode to install APK packages outside of official App Markets/Stores. Allowing installation of apps from unknown sources. To find out how to disable this setting, here is video instructions:

Can I track brainwaves in silence?
Yes, of course. You don't have to use our meditation App(with sound guidelines) for brainwave tracking. There are various ways to track your brainwaves in silence.

What should I do if I’m unable to register a user account on the Macrotellect apps?

If you're unable to register a new user account in the Macrotellect apps—such as not receiving an authentication code via email or phone—there’s an alternative way to create your account.

You can sign up using either your phone number or email address. Once your account is successfully created, you can use the same login credentials to access any Macrotellect app.
I did not receive the authentication email when creating a new account on the Macrotellect Apps. What should I do?
